Many organizations are now recognizing that 170 years is too long to wait for gender parity in leadership and that the impact of not accelerating the advancement of women is costing the world’s economy trillions of dollars.
Though fortunately many leaders do now support this effort, the fact of the matter is that women are not all created equal in the face of advancement—and that discrimination in the workplace is more rampant for individuals whose identities overlap or “intersect” with a number of minority classes such as race, gender, age, ethnicity, health and other characteristics.
